NEFDC Spring Virtual Conference

9:45am – 2:00pm

The weight of teaching during a global pandemic and necessary shifts in how, when and where we teach, a national race crisis, and political unrest have greatly impacted faculty well-being. How can we create space and support for faculty to foster their own well-being while also providing students with the best learning experience possible?

For our Spring 2021 Virtual Conference we will be accepting proposals for interactive roundtables. Each roundtable will begin with a short introduction (10 – 15 minutes) to the topic and facilitated discussion based on prompts or interactive activities that model effective online practice.

Proposals for faculty, faculty and student partners, and for faculty developers related to the conference theme may include:

• Staff, faculty, student perspectives on managing well-being
• Well-being
• The role of community and connection
• Combatting screen fatigue
• Reducing cognitive load
• Developing emotional IQ
• Setting boundaries
• Time management
• Developing resilience
• Mindfulness for self, pedagogically
• Energy management

Fully online. No parking! No hotel! No traffic!

Conference Information

Our spring conference will be held via Zoom. Participants will be able to move freely among the different roundtable sessions offered concurrently. The Keynote will be interactive, and we have created space for connection among participants through 12 roundtable discussions, 6 concurrently in each block. Technical support will be available during the conference.

Conference Rates and Registration

MEMBERS:

The Spring conference is a great value at only $25 for participants from member institutions.

If your institution is an NEFDC Member, then you are a member as well. Please check our list of institutional members before registering. MEMBERS ARE ASKED TO PLEASE REGISTER WITH YOUR INSTITUTIONAL EMAIL ADDRESS.

If your institution would like to become a member until the end of June of 2021, you can do that and then return here to register for the conference for a reduced rate of $25. This may make sense if you expect a large number of faculty or staff from your institution to attend.

NON-MEMBERS: 

If you want to register as an individual for $40, please use this link for individual non-member registration.
